Keep Us Safe - deportations protest song

We are asking communities and people concerned about the deportation operations being undertaken by the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration to join us in singing and recording this song of protest against "the very public approach being taken by the Irish government which creates an environment of fear for people in the protection system, causing significant distress for those awaiting decisions on their applications. It fails to respect peoples’ dignity, does not recognise their contribution and value to Irish society, and risks putting them in danger in the country they are returned to." source: https://doras.org/news/civil-society-response-irelands-deportation-operations

The composer, Peter Sheekey, is available to bring his guitar along to any group. The idea is to have as many groups as possible post videos of them singing this song. The original version is on the Youtube video below along with a downloadable version of the lyrics with guitar chords. Here is our version filmed at Mud Island Community Garden.
